Voila! Guntur youth can scream loud now

GUNTUR(The Hindu-01-May-07): A movie script penned by a city youngster R. Ananda Mohan has been selected for a Hollywood film
`The silent scream-1' by New York-based film consultant firm.

The script had earlier been granted intellectual property rights (IPR) by the Writers' Guild Association in California. "I had sent a
100-word synopsis to New York consultants last August, which was accepted. I was given the nod to develop the full story, which I
hope to complete in the next couple of months,'' 29-year-old Ananda Mohan, a resident of Old Guntur and working as a clerk at an
aided school here, told The Hindu on Monday evening.

He was also given the IPR of the script and once a production company laps up the script, Mohan is expected to find himself in an
elite company.

A strong `no' to euthanasia

A strong `anti-euthanasia' spirit is portrayed in the 1,000-word script with the main protagonist, a hard-core criminal, voicing his
protest against the cruel practice. "No one except the creator has the power to take away one's life,' Mohan observes.

The recognition from a Hollywood consultant came at the end of a painstaking effort that spanned over a decade. "I have always been
fascinated by Hollywood movies. I have been compiling stories and sending them to various production houses in the last 10 years.
Finally, I hit it off,'' says a thrilled Mohan.

Mohan is now getting ready to work on two more scripts.
